William St. Parking Lot, 7 3/4″ x 9 3/4″ , oil on panel
William St. Parking Lot, [DETAIL]
Happy to finally finish this piece. I started it over a year ago and must have repainted the sky more times than I can count. I must say I am happy with the composition and mood.
Cactus in Morning Light , oil on canvas, 5″ x 7″
Cactus in Morning Light [ Detail]
While I do have a steady project/theme I am working on, there are moments when you have to drop everything and capture something that is absolutely beautiful. This still life of a small cactus plant is one such moment. It caught my attention as it sat on my bedroom window sill basking in the morning light. I had to paint it.
Big Sun, oil on canvas, 5″ x 7″
Big Sun [Detail]
One of the first things I do in a new studio is find exactly on the horizon where the sun rises and sets. It is interesting to watch as it shifts from one point to another; during winter, spring, summer and fall. I feel a sense of place in my environment having this knowledge.
This oil painting is on stretched canvas, unframed and self hanging.
